Myer Winter Fashion Collections…will these clothes make you rush out and buy up large?

Retail fashion clothing sales are way down… they have been declining for years now! For several reasons: the recession, household shopping is up, internet shopping is on the increase and at the end of the day we can keep wearing our old favourites, but we must eat!

So with the new season upon us, will you be inspired to rush out and buy the new season’s winter fashions? Do you think they will suit you or are they just for the super young and the super skinny?

We all know that designer fashion collections are always way out there and generally very unrealistic for 90% of women to wear. We also know that retail fashion takes its cue from these designers and pares them down to more realistic, commercial, every day wear for the majority of us mere mortals.

But what about when a retailer shows these fashions as the clothes we are meant to wear? Are they really realistic for the majority of women or only for models?

Do you think they have got it right?

Or should they show and sell clothes that most women really will wear this year?

After all how women do you see wearing these clothes?

Therefore why do they keep showing us these clothes?

Let’s take a look at how you can look fashionable this year without looking ridiculous!

Overall black and white are the two main colours with a splash of colour.

White by itself is not a flattering look unless you have a perfect size 8 body – as do the models! White adds kilos to our body form and highlights every bump – not a good look.

But black with accent of white look fabulous – it is a classic.

Wearing all gold can look very trashy, but worn with black it looks glamorous.

Top-to-toe leather and you will look like a bikie chick, but one piece (faux leather I prefer) looks edgy.

Wishing you a POSITIVELY FABULOUS Day!

How to find the perfect fitting bra…which will take kilos off instantly!

It is what we wear underneath that realty counts…the perfect fitting bra will do wonders for your figure shape!

I wonder why it is that some women still insist on buying many new clothes, but keep wearing the same old bra. When it is far cheaper to buy a new bra than a piece of clothing and it will make the clothing that you already have look so much better on!

If there is one thing you do for yourself this season, go to a trained corsetiere and be fitted correctly, you will be so glad you did.

Nothing can substitute being fitted correctly. Never buy off the rack without trying a bra on first. Worse still, buy those horrible bras they advertise on TV that will do absolutely nothing for you!

A good bra fit…

  • A pleasing cup shape: that works well with your natural breast shape and enhances it.
  • It will produce good breast uplift or support: this will make you appear slimmer, check your bustline uplift standing side on to the mirror.
  • Adequate breast separation: breasts should not be squashed together or have excess bulk under the arm.
  • Cups that are large enough to fully support the breasts: each breast should be able to go completely down and out into the cup, with no bulging of the breast over the neckline or armhole edges and no skin against under the breast.
  • The underwire should sit correctly: the centre of the bra will sit snugly against the sternum/rib cage.
  • Shoulder straps won’t fall over the shoulders or they won’t dig into the shoulders causing a deep groove: wide good quality elastic shoulder straps with padding will prevent this.
  • The back won’t ride up: the shape of the bra should be deeper and its lower edge should be angled down at the centre back to taper in with the ribcage.

There are hundreds of perfect fitting bras that are gorgeous, pretty, beautiful and sexy too! But remember in this case you get what you pay for! Go for a quality bra that has been fitted correctly!

Happy BRA Shopping!

One Hour To A Younger Looking You!

One of my biggest bug-bears is yellow teeth! They are so aging!

Especially when it is so easy to do something about that today!

When someone is speaking, despite what we are told, we don’t look at their eyes; we actually look at their mouth, because it is moving. Therefore we focus on their teeth!

Yellow teeth instantly age you!

White teeth make you appear far more youthful.

Going to a specialist tooth whitener is not as expensive as it used to be. Look them up in your local area.
But of course whitening toothpastes help along with whitening pens…

When you have beautiful teeth you smile more often and a smile is the quickest facelift in the world!

Hope you have a Positively Fabulous day!

New Season’s Statement Jewellery…

Bold, gold jewellery is this season’s look and it makes it so easy to up-date your wardrobe without costing a fortune! Antique gold pieces are in, so go hunting out those beautiful pieces that are hidden away.

Either wear one pendant or do as Coco Chanel did and wear long layers of gold and pearl strings.

Jewellery for everyday wear does not have to be the real deal. Fake is perfectly fine.

If in doubt about how many pieces to wear together go by the golden rule: Wear earrings and a bracelet, or earrings and a necklace, or a bracelet and a necklace, but not all three!

Whether it is real or not jewellery does need to be protected, so make it the last thing you put on before you leave the house and the first thing you take off when you get home!

Have an absolutely GORGEOUS day!

Beat a Bloated Tummy to Look Flat Again!

In addition to the dreaded stomach bulge, this familiar ailment results in terrible discomfort. Bloating symptoms come from excess gas accumulating in the abdomen, particularly in the intestines. Intestinal bacteria produce gas when foods have not yet travelled through the small intestine. If gas particles are not released right away, the stomach expands like a balloon. Although overeating is the most known cause for bloating, some people battle the bloat daily - even if they have not polished off an oversized meal.

Common Bloating Culprits
  • Salt causes the body to retain fluid - a common cause of bloating.
  • Heavy starches such as bread, potatoes and pasta can cause water retention.
  • Dairy can be hard on your digestive tract as it contains lactose, a difficult-to-digest sugar.
  • Carbonated drinks, like soda, cause air bubbles to form and expand in your abdomen.

Bloating Cures
  • Water: When your stomach feels like it is about to pop, downing water may be the best quick fix.
  • Dandelion tea is a mild diuretic that will also help get rid of the water your body is holding onto.
  • Magnesium: Try taking 200 milligrams of magnesium daily to fight fluid retention and to expel gas. This crucial mineral eases constipation by relaxing the muscles in the intestinal walls.
  • Potassium ensures that all cells, tissues and organs are operating properly. Try eating potassium-rich foods such as bananas, kiwifruit and strawberries.
  • Fibre-rich foods can push stomach-clogging materials out of the body such foods like oatmeal, bran flakes, raspberries, lentils, and artichokes into your meals.
  • Probiotics are made up of good living bacteria similar to those that naturally exist in the body and aid with digestive health. Through nutritional supplements or probiotic-enriched food sources like yogurt and soy drinks, probiotics can be integrated into your diet.
  • Physical activity can also give your digestive system a boost such as a 15-20 minute stroll around the neighbourhood after dinner can help with digestion.
  • Massage is a helpful way to keep bloating at bay. Massaging the abdominal area helps relax the muscles that support the bladder and intestine. Press your fingers near your right hip.  Start massaging in small circles. Move hands from right to left making an arc under your breastbone. Massaging stimulates bowel activity to help push out excess stool and reduce bloating.
See your doctor if you find that bloating is interfering with your daily activities and/or if you notice that your abdomen is looking persistently and unusually inflated and/or you are experiencing intense pain.

Wishing you an AWESOME day!
